58 Carbine, 50 US Carbine. does anyone shoot one?

Call it idle curiosity, these cartridges apparently launched 400-530gr boolits at 600-900 fps using 40-50 grains of Black.
I don't expect to ever see one of these but would it be worthwhile to try to duplicate them in a 45-70 or 50-70 case?

I've seen both, original rifles/carbines and cartridges at a couple of antique arms shows before. Either type of loading should be able to be done with either cartridge useing either BP or "white" powder. They are quite a bit of fun.
