Morning Gents,

Paraphrasing part of a reply I've posted on another thread....

Over here in the UK I am lucky enough to own and be able to shoot an original Webley Mk IV service revolver made in 1899 on a special condition of our restrictive firearms laws.

As some of you know, handguns were banned here in 1996, so info on reloading / bullet design / favorite pet loads for these type guns has been mostly lost....

I'm looking for recommendations of a suitable bullet mould to enable me to cast the correct bullet for this revolver, it is a 265 grain, round nosed hollow base bullet (the hollow base being most important as it is required to obturate (seal) the barrel upon firing).

the ogive of this bullet is also an odd design (see the pic).

If anyone can recommend a mould for this bullet (boolit) and where i could get one (or more) from I'd be greatful.

Cheers from "across the pond"!

Hi Ralbsy......again!
Buffalo will ship some items to the UK. They have been great at sending stuff to hotels in the US for me to pick up.
They are usually pretty good at responding to emails. Just email them your wants. There is info on their site about international sales.
The bigger US shooting supply places seem to vary on what they will send to us poor home boys!
A friend of mine has a Webley and Scott auto pistol he is trying to concoct loads for!
Cheers,
Tony......again!

Don't know why i didn't think of asking you first.....!!

Hope you had a good Christmas?

I've posted a want ad on "guntrader" also, don't know if you've replied on there, if not, no worries.

Cheers,

I just had a look on Andy Allwoods website and he has listed a Navy hollow base bullet but no weight given.
£12 a 100.

Hi is in Bracknell but I think he has just started doing mail order.
If you phone him be prepared to have your hind leg talked off!

Thanks for the link Tony,

thats what i paid for the last 200 Roding Armoury had for sale, if they are the same as the ones pictured.

at least i have that option if i can't get a mould sourced to cast my own....

Do you suppose those pointy 265 grain bullets tumbled when they hit their target? Looks like the might.

Give Jim at CBE a ring. He makes a sweet mould for the .455.

Aparently they didn't need to as that big fat lump of lead bumbling along at about 650 / 700 fps was plenty enough to do what was intended of it, without the need for tumbling when they hit.....:-?

There was a group buy a little while back... I can't remember whether or not it was for the 38-200 or the 455-265, but I do remember there being one. Maybe someone around here has a spare mold, should it be for the 455, that they might be willing to part with for someone who has the luxury of being able to partake in this fine tradition in a less then friendly gun enviroment...

does anyone recall this GB thread, or a link to it?

or even better, does anyone have a spare mould?

Cheers,

If I remember right it was the .38/200. At least I remember that one, I don't remember a 455/265.
