View Full Version : Handles to fit Lachmiller moulds?

I was recently given a Lachmiller 2-cavity mould but need to figure out what kind of handles will fit. It's my understanding that they require something thinner than Lymans but I don't know anything beyond that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I believe RCBS is a little thinner than Lyman. Lee handles shimmed would probaly work. Never ever had a Lachmiller mould. Thanks Ken

RCBS handles are Lachmiller handles.

I have a Lachmiller 3 cav mould, but no handles that will work. The handle slot on mine measure about .265". My RCBS, Lee, and Lyman handles all measure closer to .300". Someday I'm going to get around to modifying a set of Lee handles to work with them. They're soft enough that a little work with a file should be all that's needed if you don't have a better way.

I thinned LEE 6 cavity handles to fit my RCBS molds.

I have an 8" bench mounted disc sander and I used that, but a file would work too.

Had the same problem and took the blocks to a machinist to mill them for RCBS handles. Now they work great.
My Lachmiller 3-cavity and 2-cavity molds had different widths for the handles.
