View Full Version : 45 Long Colt to 45 ACP

Sorry, wasn't sure where else to put this; someone on this forum was looking for some 45 LC cases to turn/trim to 45 ACP, for use in some revolver or other. Who was it? I just found 30 pieces of LC brass that I would be more than happy to send to that person.

Yes they are different, he is going to be trimming them to a shorter length for easier extraction If I recall correctly.

I have a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible. I am trimming the Colt (After I use them in the colt and they crack) cases back to the length of ACP cases. The trimmed back colt cases have a slightly larger case capacity, so i can make my boolits go faster, and with the rim, it head spaces better in my gun and shoots more accurately.

thin rimmed 45 ar cases.
they already make whats called 45 special cases,not to be confused with the schofield.
daniel is going one step further here.to the acp length.
