Is the 1894 cowboy in 357 mag no longer available with a 24" barrel, the local dealers say only 20". I want an octagon 24", I see some sites were they call them cowboy limited. I have an original 1889 in 38/40 really like the length and feel of it, was hoping to get a new 94 in same length for 357

I see them listed on gunbroker once in a while. I have a .45 same model and really enjoy it. I think that they (marlin) have stopped producing the cowboy limited.

As far as I know , they quit making the 357 in 24" barrel a few years ago. I have a 24" that I use for cowboy silhouette.

Look for a used one.

Mine is marked 1894 Copwboy Limited. Some have checkering and some don't. Mine doesn,t.

Shoulda spoke up earlier !

I sold one back in april on Gunbroker that was LNIB !

I bought it new 24" barrel and all !
Maybe shot it 50 times tops and that was all with cast bullets !

But I will say I also sold it for more then what I paid for it !

I bought one when they first came out and still have it. You will have to talk to my kids after I die to get it though and maybe not then.

Has any one on here heard the rumors that marlin is going to make a 94 in 44-40 again?

I wish they would, I have two originals made in 1904 and 1902 but would buy a new one in a minute. I have other calibers but for what ever reason i have an attatchment to 44-40.

I had a pair of the recent manufacture Marlin's in 44-40 . One was a 1894CB that was made about 1998 I think this was just like the 1894CB in 44 MAG when it first came out with 24" barrel and checkered stocks . I also hada 1894CCL which was almost identical to the 1894CB except it was uncheckered and had a 20" octagon barrel like what the 1894CB's have now .

I also had original 1894's in 25-20 , 32-20 and 38-40 but never was able to get my hands on a nice Marlin original 1894 in 44-40 in the rifle configuration that I could afford .

Thanks, I got a friend of mine looking into it. I don't know if I can buy off gunbroker as I am in Canada. I know I can get an import permit but there are a lot of American companies that just don't want to deal with the paper work.
