Cross Sticks Design

How much difference in accuracy is dependant on cross sticks design? Specifically, How the gun is supported - barrel directly against wood, against a felt pad (or similar) or barrel suspended on a leather strap.

What do the Big Boys use?

I have tried several different designs including makeshift ones and have not noticed any difference in accuracy with them. I am one of the unfortunates who can not shoot from a prone position any more due to neck problems so I shoot sitting with cross sticks. Not as accurate as prone but then I can shoot other wise I would have to fire everything off hand (or Awful hand as we call it at my club).
