View Full Version : Lee TL430-240-SWC specs
I have just a few questions regarding the specifications on this mold and was hoping someone can help me out on this one.
Nose length?
As Cast Diameter? & with what alloy? (I will be using WW)
As Cast bullet weight?
Accuracy Report as either a plinker load or a mid to full house 44 mag load?
I would appreciate anyone's help.
Thanks,
Rob

Lee molds tend to vary a little on as-cast diameter and weight. I have one of those that casts between .430 and .431 with #2 and consistent .430 with WW+2% tin. The weights ranged from 240-245gr. Good shooting bullets even at full house loads but I use it mainly as a plinker since it doesn't have a gas check. Tumble lubed according to Recluse's instructions with Alox/JPW results in little to no leading even at full house loads.
As low priced as they are, go ahead and get the C429-240 SWC too and use it for full-house loads with gas checks.
Thanks for the reply................does anyone know how long the nose is as I have a picky lever action that will need around a 1.60" bullet COL. Maybe a few thousandths longer.

The nose is .250" +/- .001 and crimping ON the front driving band yields 1.588" in my brass. Crimped ON the front driving band, these will feed in my Marlin. I don't feel comfortable using full-house loads that are not crimped into a groove in a tube magazine.
