Folks,

Let us pay attention to history.

During the South African War, the "Boers" vs "THE British", from 1899 to 1902, the "Boers" at some point decided to "grease" their bullets prior to loading the same. Things went in sterling fashion, until that ammo got old or had been stored for a while. The next thing the "Boers" knew, their Mauser rifles started to go "KABOOM" big time!

The "grease" (Unknown) was determined to "GLUE", or prevent the release of the bullet from the case neck, with EXTREME pressure, as in catastrophic failure!

Little is tried in the modern world, that the Sun has not shined on before.

Lubing jacketed was common prior to the invention of our modern gilding metal jacket materials. Read Whelen or Crossman about using "Mobillube" (IIRC) on Gov't issue fodder, there was even a special gizmo for applying it.

Hard to think that was almost 100 years ago!
