Jeff Bartlett has two powders that may interest some of you. They are new listings. Not a terrific deal, but for some of you may be a decent enough deal. Russian powders, clones of 4198 and 700x. The 4198 is $100/8# and the 700x is $50/4#...Ray

Russian powder, clones of 4198

I've seen this advertised... and I've also heard it mentioned a few times now. Has anyone tried this Russian 4198 and have an opinion as compared to IMR or Hodgdon 4198?

I have not tried it; I use a lot of H4198 myself and about time to restock.
He usually gives comparison equivalents on his website; if you have more questions then just contact him.
It's my understanding that IMR 4198 is slightly faster than the Hodgdon, and the Russian powder more closely resembles the IMR.

Spent a lot of money with Jeff over the years. He used to have 10 powders listed at any given time, at REAL surplus powder prices. He does the best he can, but prices are almost the same as cannister grade powders. He has WC844 though.

I sure burned up my share of that powder over the years.
