Here is some pics of what I use to make a lot of my tools. Actually workd pretty good and I am able to maintain +or- .002 and even better when I need to.

Ingenious!
I use a lapidary lap, 8" for the flat lap. I already have the machines.
If you need to wet lap it, get a spray bottle and just spray the diamond wheel.

nice. ur thinking out side the box. a cheap compound slide mounted in the vice
would open up lots more options.

Yeh it will take off some metal in a hurry. I'll have to look into a compond slide. I supose it could function as a mill then.

There is some terms there I am not fimilar with. "lapidary lap"???? "flat lap"??? "wet lap"??? Could you fill me in? Pretty sure I'm not using a diamond wheel. Sounds to expensive for my projects:). Just an ordinary hand held grinding wheel.

Turned a 1/4" grade 8 ace hardware bolt into the internial part of the die that forms a flat point instead of a hollow point then pushes the bullet back out of the die. Cool thing that the nose of the 40 cal bullet is right at .250.

Ive turned small stuff in a Mill like that. Put the part in a collet, cutter in a vise, and you have a pseudo-lathe
