Well, I've been lurking around for some time now and have been filling my little brain with all things pb. I have been using a lot of Lee molds, and just got my first Lyman in the mail yesturday... 356637 (9mm Devastator). Cast up 250 last night with 8 pounds WW, 2 pounds pure pb, and 2 ounces tin. I cast with a ladle from a cast iron pot.
Thanks to everything I have been reading on here, I had some very good success with a very small "back to pot" percentage.
I hand lube by rubbing the lube into the grease groove (yes, very slow). I size with a Lee die.
I loaded up 50 that had been sized to .356 and another 50 as cast. They came out of the mold at .357 and weighed 132.
Loaded with 6.1 HS6 and will be testing this weekend in an M9.
We will see how it goes as far as leading and accuracy.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all the info you folks have here. Great site!
Last nights work:
