Just traded some brass for some RCBS 30-200 Sil. bullets to try before buying that mold. These bullets came sized & lubed with LLA.
Got me to thinking, does the LLA on the bore riding nose help in any other way ??
I'll probably re size and put lube in the lube grove just to see.
Bullits I cast will have a BHN of about 18-20 and be driven 1800-2000 fps

Wayne I have the bore riding Lyman 287641 160gn 7mm bullet and because about 60% of the length is bore riding I dip lube the nose in thinned LLA after loading the base lubed bullet. My main load is at 2415 fps and cast in lino but I have just started to soft nose the bullet with 65gn of 50/50 PB and a 90/10 ww/lino blend, still with the lino shank and expect it to be something like a partition on meat when loaded to the same velocity.

Just a couple examples.

..............Wayne, I TL all my bore riders before lube-sizing. It sure makes engraving a lot easier/smoother. I haven't ever done a test to see if it makes a difference in accuracy. It would be nice if it increased accuracy but so long as it didn't hurt it I'd still consider it a benefit.
