Does anyone have a Ruger Blackhawk in 32-20 and know what the bore size is?

I have one and the bore seems to be .312" when I measured a slug driven thru it.

I've been using .311" sized bullets in my Buckeye .32-20 with good accuracy. I've tried .311s and .312s and it doesn't show a preference one way or another in mine./beagle

Thanks guys. I guess Ruger used the proper sized barrel, unlike T/C.

Also check the cylinder throats. That dimension is at least as important as that of the groove diameter. Hopefully/usually, the throats either match the grooves, or are .001"-.0015" larger.

They CAN VARY. I can't speak about the Rugers, but two Colts I have--a Pocket Positive in 32 S&W Long and a SAA Bisley in 32-20 both have .311" throats and grooves. My S&W Model 16-4 in 32 H&R Magnum has .314" throats and (as best I can determine) .313" grooves. Another S&W--my M&P in 32-20--has the same .314" throats and grooves are about .3125".

I had two of them at one time, both shooter grade, and I slugged one of the barrels and got .309", so used .311" sized bullets in them. I figured, Ruger being Ruger, and usually going the cheapest way possible, they just used a .30 Carbine barrel, which they alread had in stock. But, could be wrong.
