the box had a + sign on it to indicate high pressure load and i wonder if somebody know where to find these molds and their name.

I don't know about the Buffalo Bore boolits, but you should look at LBT's designs if you
want a large meplat. Here is the link to the mold page - scroll way down and see
the 450 .458 design.

LBT molds are not cheap but they are well made.

Karl,

There are currently two open group buys going for such a bullet in your 45-70. Both have a meplat of .330" (8.38 mm). The bullets in the group buys are designed for optimum fit in your Marlin.

One is a 350 grain, and the link is here:

The other one is a 425 grain, and the link is here:
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=66281

May be worth taking a look. I have molds in this design, and these bullets perform extremely well.

Check out BRP Custom Molds in the Vendor Sponsor section here at Cast Boolits. Bruce (BaBore) has cataloged designs from 300 grns up to 465 grns with wide meplats for the 45-70 & .450 Marlin. All of his designs are ready to order immediately, no need to wait for a Group Buy.

Hope this helps,
