Can anyone tell me what OAL a Sig 229 9mm will need with a TC 124gr? Long shot I know, hopefully someone knows.

Chris--

I load the Lee 122 grain truncated cone design with about .020" of the boolit sidewall above the case mouth, dunno what the actual OAL is. It feeds reliably in a SIG P-226, P-228, Ruger P-89X, and several other now-departed nineguns.

Thank you, that's close enough. Probably about a 1.05" which is close to where I've been loading for my CZ.

I think it's longer than that. Lemme go check--back shortly.

I have 2 lots of ammo for the 9mm using the Lee TC 122 grainer. The shorter lot (1.055" OAL) is set with the .020" of boolit sidewall exposed, and uses 3.7 grains of WW-231 and WSP primers. A second/older lot is seated out further (1.110" OAL) and uses 4.5 grains of Unique. Notes show that both loads function/feed reliably.

A third lot of 9mm uses an NEI copy of the Lyman #356402, more of a SWC design with a smaller meplat and an actual small SWC shoulder. Its nose is longer, and OAL is 1.120".

Reliance on memory as I approach my dotage is not a wise choice. Hope this helps.
