I am looking for a maker of custom molds. I like Mountain Molds bullet design prgram but he is not making anything right now. Does anyone know of anywhere else within his price range that makes custom molds? I like the simplicity of the MM site, shame he's not producing anything.

Thanks

What is his price range? Lee does it for like a $100 set up fee! If you post it here (under group buys)and get others to go in on it, you can get the overall price per lowered!

I know, I've been to Lee already. I think the 25 or more only applies to the same mold though. I don't know how many people are looking for a 395 grain .452 mold. Probably not 25  . MM has a single cavity ALuminum for $65 and a Extra Large double cavity Alum for $85.

Take a look at NEI Handtools, I'm not sure about a 400 grain x .452 design--but a 45-70 design could possibly be cut undersize.

I will agree with Ballisti-Cast. I called them today to inquire about getting a regular H&G 68 mold that would throw a .452 bullet with my alloy, Ive been using a alloy of BHN10 or so that throws a small bullet from all the "standard" molds that are setup for a harder alloy.

No problem, I told them my mix and he said my bullet would drop .001 over my spec. Said I should have it in a couple weeks.

Very knowlegeable and pleasent to deal with, I wish I had called them sooner.

Just an update here. I recieved my mold from Ballisticast yesterday so I recieved it in less than 2 weeks. Beautiful piece of work:-D Throws nice round bullets that come out .453 with my alloy. Even with my ham fisted technique all were within .5 grain from a 4 cavity mold.

Now the real test will be in the shooting:Fire:
