If you had to get just one of these which one would it be?

I have the 454424. LOVE IT!
I had a Cramer HP conversion done to mine, and now it casts faceted hollowpoints.
6.5 grains of red dot pushes these boolits into tight clusters out to as far as i can hold steady.

Either one will make you happy. If I could only have one mould, and had to choose between these two (both of which are obviously silly conditions), I would choose the RCBS mould because it is a little bit heavier.

I have the RCBS 45-255-SWC and will never go back to Lyman if I can help it.

Toby:
If I were to choose between the 452424 (rather than the older 454424) and the RCBS mould I would select the RCBS 45-255 !

The profile on the newer 452424 is just wrong to my eyes !

I have the older Lyman #454424, which I find to be excellent in my OM Ruger .45 Colt Blackhawk. I have tried the newer #452424 and find it too small for the throats on my Ruger.

Unless you have a group buy 454424 then I would purchase the RCBS 45-255-swc. The RCBS is a bigger block and it is a closer duplicate to the original Keith design especially the lube groove on the RCBS has the groove holds much more lube vs the new Lyman 452424. A note though the RCBS that I had (fairly recent) casted a .456 bullet so that is also something you might want to know where as Lyman has had some quality control issues with undersized molds lately. I've tried two in the last year and they casted out .001 under spec which leaves one with an undersized bullet[smilie=b:.

What RobS said regarding the "Keith" bullet. I like RCBS molds very much, I seem to get better bullets than with a Lyman, don't know why. That said, John Taffin speaks highly of the Lyman 454490 GC accuracy wise, and it's one that I intend to try one of these days....Dennis
