Re-reading an old post on Win 500hs.
I have a pound and don't reload shotgun. Just got a Handi rifle in 357 mag
and wondered if I could use the 500 for cast bullets? I read about where it
is on the burn rate chart about HS 5.

Is there a danger if powder is able to fall into the primer through the flash hole?

No I don't think so.. Bullseye is fine grained and there are other rifle ball powders (like H380) that are the same small size. I don't think it will affect it at all.

I too have a single can of 500 HS.. and a 3 pound can of AL8. :)

There are some pretty small granule ball powders for rifle as well. It gets into the primers.
Doesn't seem to affect anything. Accurate Arms pistol powders are fine granules as well.

How could they not get into the primers??

Years ago I remember there was an issue with the ball powders and shotgun primers. I think the cure was a piece of paper on the hole in the primer.
