I am using the lee 100 grain 32 acp pistol mold in my 30-30. I tried pistol powders of 7 grains win 231 and am getting decent accuracy. I am wondering how fast I could drive this bullet with h335 or herc 2400 without leading. The bullets are oven treated.

Do you have micro groove rifling?

Yeah, sorry Jason but the answer is "depends". It depends on the gun, the load, the boolit, the alloy and mostly on the fit. In very general terms given a good barrel and good boolit fit using WW alloy...somewhere between 12-1400 FPS, but it depends. If I say 1327 FPS is it then 30 bazillion guys will appear telling of how they get 1842 fps on a regular basis. If I say 1600FPS another group will say they can't get more than 1200 no matter what they do. It depends on the individual gun and the guy loading as much as anything else.

I have loaded lots of 31108 115 gr 32-20 bullets in the 30-30. Mostly at 32-20 ballistics of around 1400 fps using fast powders such and unique and red dot. I have never pushed them faster as I was trying for a pliking load as well as one for small game. I have shot plain base 30 cal bullets in and M1 carbine at up to 1700 fps without leading using H110 powder without leading but again a lot depends on your load etc. I one time loaded some 357 mags with 2400 (not sure how much at this late date) and lead plated my bore with six shots. So it depends like others said.
