Just got my Winchester 94 25-35 this morning.
Started working up some loads

My gun doesn't seem to like the 257464, (89 gr GC) cause I can't keep anything in the ballpark. 12" + groups @ 50 yds.
3031, 4227 and H335 so far.

It really likes the 257420.(65 gr GC)
3031 and 4227 both were tight on my first try.

will work more with that bullet for now.

any one else shooting the Win 25-35 carbine have any pet bullets/ loads?

Thanks

..........I know that 9.3x62AL has a M94 in that flavor, and has shot cast lead from it. I don't know offhand of anyone else. You might give him a PM and refer him to this thread.

If it's the stock, factory twist, you'll have to go to a heavier bullet probably as the twist in the factory rifles was 1-8 as well as I recollect and designed for a 117 grain bullet.

I rebarrelled a M336 with a 1-10 twist Douglas and it shoots about anything I put in it and isn't picky at all.

My favorite bullet's the RCBS 25-100-FN HP./beagle

thanks Buckshot, Ill see if I can run him down.

My short 25-20 bullets are shooting good in it. I don't have a mold yet for the 100 plus grain bullets.

Hi Beagle,

I also have a 336 that is just kind of needing to become a .25-35 and I have a set of .25-35 AI dies that I need to put to use so thought I would see about converting to that caliber.

My question is, could you tell me where you get the barrel installed & about how much $ am I looking at or waving goodbye to that is?

If these guys would just hold off on coming up with these great boolit designs, I might be able to get something like this done.

My 25-35 won the arctic Lever Action shoot today. (10 deg and breezy)
I say my 25-35 won, cause I wasn't shooting it.
I was shooting my 219 Zipper.
Since it was real cold, and we were only going to shoot one match instead of the usual two, I had the guy that showed up to spot for us shoot it.
He wound up winning.

the little 257420 70 gr bullet behind 20 grns of 3031 shot great. (Same load I shoot in my 219 Zipper behind the 225438 46 gr bullet)

It may be giving up alittle out at the longer range (300 yds) cause he missed a few out there
