Just bought a used 450 Lube/sizer and now starts the hunt for dies and top punches. Do those for the 4500 fit the 450 ??? Would also like to know if the
heater unit they show for the 4500 fits under the 450 ??? My loading area gets
a tad cold in the winter and the heater would be very handy. New to this forum
and looking forward to getting to know you guys better . 10 Spot[smilie=s:

The sizer dies will interchange. The heater won't fit. Do a search for lubrisizer heaters.

Have always used a clip on light close to the 450's and all has been well. It is not as fast as some tell me the heater is, but if it works (which it does) and has other purposes as well (which it does), you might give it a try! :?

I like the lite with a heat bulb in it , it keeps my hands warm!!

The 450 uses a base heater , looks like a flat piece of a base .

The 4500 takes a tube heater inserted in the base of the body castin.

(did`nt feel rite typin that!!) & WELCOME TO CASTBOOLITS.GUNLOADS!!!!

The sizer dies will work in either and the under the base heater for the 450 works just fine under the 4500, bases are the same far as hole spacing and location.

I use cast-off blow-dryers provided by the bevy of women that frequent my residence (wife and 6 daughters). Blow-dryers are interesting items--every woman needs her own, and grows tired of it in 3 months or less. The supply chain is well-stocked, in other words.

Welcome to the site--cool nick, I might add.

Somewhere in the manufacturer of the 450 Lyman tightened up their specs. So an early 450or an RCBS will handle any of the sizing dies but a later 450 or a 4500 might not. The newer machines have a very slightly smaller opening for the sizing die. If you happen to have a very old die which is just a hair larger larger in diameter then it will not fit the later units.
