I had a need for some empty .357 brass and had none readily available. Started rummaging through the closet and found 5 boxes loaded with FFF Goex and a 158g round flat point from SASS days. Thought it might be interesting to run a few across the chrono. At my normal 15', I got ERROR messages so I scooted it out to 20' and things improved. I was pleasantly surprised that the average was 750 fps for 10 rounds from a 4" barrel. Nothing significant, just another chance to shoot a few.

Do you happen to remember the weight of the powder charge?

interesting. i'm about to load up .357mags for black powder. will use swiss 3f and as much holy black as i can get into the case to maintain a proper OAL - powder weight don't matter a bit - add a card wad, compress a tad, seat in the bullet with a slight taper crimp. also interested in paper patching for the .357mag, that oughta be a bit diff'rent!
