SPencer shooters? (56-50)

Anyone else interested in shooting this?

I have found that cut down 500gr 50-70 bullet molds from Lee work PERFECTLY, but, they need a larger lube well.

I have been thinking of a group buy for this with either a 2 or 6 cavity mold.

Who else here shoots this wonderful cartridge and gun...?

Devers454,I dont have a Spencer.Every one I see is just a too rich for my blood.But a lot of N-SSA guys do.Most have orgionals with the CF conversions.The Re pops in 44 russian were real nightmares to keep operating.The latest batch is better in 56-50 cartridge but are having some teething problems from what I hear.
The Romano .518 mould made for the maynard works well I hear using cutdown 50/70 brass.OAL is rear critical on this round.There have been some info printed I have someplace in my collection[piles]Let me know if you want me to dig for it.

I grew up reading Louis Lamour and wanting a 56 Spencer 'cuz thats what Cap Rountree would "cut loose" with. I still want one. I want a Dusenburg too and I suppose I'll get one just as quick!

Well, my 56-50 Taylors' spencer works like a charm. I don't know anything about "teething" problems with the 56-50.

Its interesting, the breach block from the 56-50 Taylors will drop into (as I have been told) an original 1865 spencer carbine.

I'd still like to get a higher production setup going than just a single cavity mold...

Maybe some day.
