Being in the brass business I have gone though a bunch of different tumblers some lasting only a couple of months, in August of 2008 I bought four lyman 2500 pro magnums it has been close to 1 1/2 years they have cleaned thousands of pounds of brass flawlessly, until the other night I had some cleaning after a hour or so I had my walnut all over the floor, the bowl had cracked all around the bottom, I called lyman to BUY a bowl my one year warrany has been up for along time, well they are sending me one FREE , not only is it the bst you can buy My opinion, right next to a dillon but you can't beat the extended warrany, I wonder when my 2 dillons will have a problem and will they do the same since all tumblers are covered one year.

reason it cracked the brass wears on the bowl so it wore it down until there was not enough there to support the load my tumblers run all six run 30 hours a wk loaded to max.

I use to sell brass at gun shows, and used Lyman 2500's. They replaced mine several times, as they seemed to break down alot for me. Great company to deal with.
Now I use Ultra-Vibe, terrible company to deal with but there machines have never broken down for me. http://www.thumlerstumbler.com/vibratory.html

I have a 1200 & a 600 Lyman tumbler that are both at least 20 years old. Neither one has ever failed me, despite some extended periods of really intensive usage.

Frank, the Thumbler people didn't seem to want retail business when I called them, they did sell me a machine (uv-18). This was about 15 years ago, I have run that machine for days on end and have had no problems. The Lyman 2500's had a mickey mouse counter weight on the motor shaft to make the machine vibrate. It kept coming off and causing the fan blades to break. Lyman always replaced the machines with a brand new one, but the down time was finally to irritating and I switched brands.

The one Lyman product I haven't had to send back. They're usually good to deal with, just agrivating when you have to pay to get new stuff fixed because the factory screwed up.

Funny!
I recently had the bowl do the same thing to me on my 32 yr old Lyman 600! I have not made a call, perhaps I should, to see what Lyman says.

I know the have the new bowls for the 600 and the 1200 for around 20 Bucks , I will upgrade to the 1200 bowl if I can, but I'm kinda curious what they'll say.

Don't really need it, swapped a 44 mold to a site member for a Harbor Freight thumbler and it works great! Plus I have my big Dillon for lots of case's.
