hi folks,
picked up a 2 cavity mold today, and cannot find out any thing about it.
the mold number on it is A-224-525, i believe it to be a 22cal bullet, the mold is in excellent shape, well made out of steel. looking for information about this mold.

It's a modern bond 50 gr for the 22 Hornet. A gentleman named Floodgate who used to post here borrowed my collection of Bond Catalogs I had and deciphered the code. A-means first design for that mould, 224-is as cast diameter and the 525-is the length of the bullet. Mark

found mold in a gun shop, no one knew anything about, i just knew it was for a 22 cal, and guessed its weigth at 50-55 gns. shoud work well with my 22 hornet.

Dan,
Go to Castpics and check under the mould reference tab. The Modern Bond are listed under simply the Bond page. Yours is on page #1. I have a 2 cavity of the number. One being hollow pointed. Both solid & HP are extremely accurate in most any .22 cal rifle I've tried them in. Depending on alloy, the gas check shank might be a little big, so I resort to using 6mm gas checks. ...Geo
