removing recoil pad from bennelli nova

anyone know how to take the factory recoil pad(if you want to call it that) off the nova pump gun? i want to put a better one on, but the screws are not exposed.
any ideas?

Don't know from Nova, but frequently the rubber pads close around the screw hole through the rubber. I put a dab of oil on my Philips screwdriver and poke around 'till I find 'em. It can be a pain. Like I said, I don't know from Nova but that is the most common way I know of of putting on a pad. Chances are that's how they did it.

Go to this link and download the manual. There are instructions on page 42 of the manual on how to remove the recoil pad. It appears there are no tools required.
