Howdy all,

Someone on the SASS Wire said you can shoot 38-55 Cartridge in a 375 Win. Anyone know about this? Have a friend with a 94 in 375 Win.

The (original) length of the .38-55 case is greater than the depth of the .375 Win chamber.
Current manufacture .38-55's may be short enough.

The .38-55 bullet is spec'd to a larger diameter.

A lot of 375 Win shooters use 38-55 Win cases to fill the HUGE step of the 375 Win chamber. You can view an example here:

both my marlin and win will easily take the shorter 38-55 case [win brand] and a 379 sized boolit.
haven't tried the longer starline ones.
they feed from the tube nicely also.

In addition to the 375 W.chambered Marlins and Winchesters, add the Ruger #3 and the Sav. 99 to those able to use 38/55 brass.,My ruger and Savage shoot just fine using the orig.length (long)38/55 brass(from once fired C.I.L. loads used in some of the 38/55s on hand...) Thanks to Ranch Dog for the exc. drawings..Perhaps he will find a Sav. in 375 W.price right one fine day.... Onceabull
