txpete;
Ranch Dog has pressure tested data for his bullets. He no longer sells the moulds but still has data. Maybe if you drop him a line he'll share it with you.

Last weekend I shot mine using a Lyman 275 RNF-GC bullet with 16.0 Grains of unique for a MV of 1,500 FPS--it was very accurate

I know his data for the 265 gr has been deleted but Ranch Dog is still around. He is a most gracious individual. If you contact him, I bet he'll share...

thanks but the data for the 265 is gone/deleted.

It was simply a broken link which has been repaired. I only have data for Hodgdon powders.

See, I told you so:bigsmyl2:.

However, Michael, when you click on the powder can to get the data, it still fails to display.

Your powder charts are absolutely top drawer and provide an excellent service for all of us. Thank you!

Of the powders you list, I’m loading RL-7 and the 265gr RD.
The Alliant site lists a max 47gr for 270gr Speer bullet.
For my 444XLR I’m shooting 48.5gr –it’s a good warm load.

I am using AAC2015 with 285 gr cast boolits. It's pretty close to your IMR4198.

Using TLC432265RF I have not been able to get acceptable accuracy with IMR4198. smallest group 100yrds w/9x is 1.5" with 42.4gr. I have been able to get under 1" with 52gr H4895. recoil is also noticably less w/ H4895.

The Fouling Shot (2007, 2008?) had an article on the Ranch Dog .444 moulds; I believe the shooter was using 33 to 35 grains of XMP5744 for all three weights (265, 285, 300) in his Marlins; I will dig out the real numbers and post them tomorrow.

I'm shooting IMR-3031 with the RD 300. Great groups in my .444's.

Leadmelter gave me a bunch of these RanchDogs for my 444 BigBore Winchester. I loaded hot loads with ReLoder 7 up to "Dear Lord I hope that heals." I then backed off and settled for a more comfortable 42 grains at 1970 foot seconds. ReLoder 7 will take your 444 to the wall and still give great accuracy with reduced loads. I like this powder cause it meters out like ball powder from my cheap but effective Lee Perfect powder measure. Keep writing guys -- I'm learning. Helice

I have used 45 grains of IMR4198 under a 265 J-word Hornady with good accuracy (for me 1-1/2" out of a levergun at 100 yds is good accuracy!).

I have used 45 grains of RX-7 and the Lee 300 grain with also great accuracy. You could extrapolate from there. The RD 265 is one great looking boolit but only have tried the heavier one =277 grain out of my mould and then only in .44 mag. rifle.

WOWW you actually read and paid attention to my article in "The Fouling Shot"!

Thanks ;)

FWIW , I used all three of those loads in different 444 rifles to take deer last season ! While they aren't what I would call a hot load they are suitable for deer out to 100 yards or so .

You're welcome. TFS is a great magazine; I read it cover-to-cover.

I am working on a Fouling Shot index and just finished 2008 and 2009.
