Hello to everyone, I'm new to this post and would like to ask why my melted ww ingots have dark gray spots on or in the lead. These ingots are about 8 months old. I was carefull in separating the stick-on ww.s form clip ww's when cleaning my lead. Any info? Thanks.

Did you flux and skim off the "trash" before you cast the ingots?

What GSM said.... I flux repeatedly until the **** stops surfacing.... Better to get it all out during smelting rather than have it in your casting furnace or in your bullets....;)

The little dark grey spots are most likely antimony oxidized. Flux it. Goodie will go back in and baddies will float out.

I get the same problem in some of my 200 grainers; they look like they have some horrible skin disease! Shoot just fine, though.
