Some time back I got a new in cosmoline 03A3 RA44 two groove barrel and had it put on my 03 sporter. I also found the front sight for the RA44. I put on the sight including the square key. I have yet to find the small pin to lock in the front sight. To my recollection I have never seen a pin all by itself. First is a pin or a roll pin?
I have an extra front sight. I think I will take it to town tomorrow and see if I can find a pin. I will try the right way first. Because I am afraid one of our group will send a reply which starts: "Find the right size finish nail..... When one is 35 miles from town with the price of gas, sometimes that is the answer. I have business in town so I will try for the pin first.
This is the centennial year for the venerable 30-06. I have not heard it mentioned yet.
