My dad shot a whitetail this afternoon in the pasture behind the house. M94 with my TLC311-165-RF (sized to .309") and pushed with 36.0-grains of BL-C(2). 65-yard shot, didn't move a muscle from a heart/lung hit. My dad is 80 and still out there getting with it!

Good for your DAD ! !

Nice looking deer, hope when I'm 70 that I'll be able to do the same thing.

Nice buck, good load. Love that blt, and was glad to get it befor you went out of business. Lee would be smart to make that a regular production item. As to your dad being 70, super! Being 70 myself, hope to be pulling down on venison when I am 100.

My dad saw this and had a bit to say. He is 80, not 70! I guess it just seems like he is 70 as active as he is!!!!

I'm hoping to test that bullet out on a deer one of these days. How fast are your pushing it?

The TLC311-165RF sure shoots great in my Marlins.

Great story and photo. Thanks!

2225 FPS!!! My Dad and I forgot that you cannot push a 170-grain cast bullet that fast! :holysheep

I was hunting about 500-yards away and I heard the bullet smack the deer immediately before I heard the shot. I've heard the "smack" so much, I can tell if somebody is hunting with my bullet (or another wide meplat like mine). The guys that I mule deer hunt with say the same, as noise carries so far in the desert, no mistaking when I kill a deer!

nothing like getting to share success.

Would you post the drawing or a picture of the boolit you are using.

Keep hoping to see a sticky way up at the top with drawing and pic of each GB boolit we have here.

Conrgats to your father !

I wish my father was able to do as yours does !

My pop still likes to collect guns but shooting or hunting ain't in the cards anylonger since he contracted Parkinson's about 4 years ago !
He'll be 74 in early december by the way !

We are culling spike deer and my dad popped one this afternoon with his M94 and the TLC311-165-RF. It was a 65-yard shot into the lungs and the deer went 10-yards.

Sorry about the picture, it was getting pretty dark! I've got to spot for my dad on these hunts as it is hard for him to tell if at least one horn is unbranched.
