Check the fitting on your new cooker. Every one that I've seen still has the external threads (as well as the new set up) that will still work on the old tanks.

Both my Northern Tool cooker and Harbor Freight weed burner are equipped for both connections.

I've got a brass adapter that converts the old internal-threaded tank valve to the new POL coarse-outside thread style valve, but I found it on an old tank I picked up at the junkyard, it had been serviced by Blue Rhino and they put it in. I saved it when I traded that tank in at a gas station because it was past the 12-year inspection date. Sorry I can't help more.

I have a lot of old POL tanks, so I went to WallyMart and got 1 of those inline guages for the acme thread tanks and removed the inlet side acme and screwed an old POL type into it. Now I have an adaptor that is easy to remove in case I use the old type regulator. That way I did not change the cookers acme thread and it will still fit the acme tanks if need be.

You could get a new regulator from agri supply

This one is only $10 and looks like it has the old thread.

I took my older, old style tanks to Walmart. They exchanged them for something like $5.00 each. Sure was worth it to me.

I don't know about today but they were collecting the old ones and taking them to Mexico by the truck loads and saleing them. I took my old ones to the COOP ( Ag Store) and it was a Free turn in. FYI
