ok quick one for you all. i got my checks today and i have to pan lube. my question is when you seat them, im using a lee dye, how good are they supposed to be on. i can take them and seat them in the shell casing which has had a expander dye ran on it. so now i seat them and i knocked one off. are the checks supposed to be on really tight or are they just supposed to be just seated on there. im not sure i have only loaded 5 shells. thanks guys

GC should not fall off. It is possible that GC shank of the boolit is undersize or the Lee push through die is not sizing the check to the boolit.

well i want back out and figured out that i have to much lube on them. not a big problem just got to run it thru once to clean it off then run it again. not i big deal they where fulling up with wax before they got seated.

I've found that the Hornady GC's clamp on better than the Lyman ones.

Hornady's have a kind of grip lip on their openings that get clamp on the bullets base when sized.

Jim, the Gator checks are even mo'betta' than the Hornady's in terms of crimp-on. You should have been in the group order. ... felix

Felix, if you have recovered from THIS group check buy in only a year you will have even more of my respect and admiration than you already command.......

Yep, it is to laugh....ruefully. Some guys are never happy (ME!)

I no sooner got the Gator checks unwrapped and admired, than I started wondering, "Now, why in tarnation didn't I ALSO order (.270s, .22s, 6.5s, etc, etc.)".

I did a trial run of several hundred .30 checks on some 311291s, and they are just fine. Thanks, Felix!
