I have read seating depths of primers...

What is the proper seating depth of primers? How much below flush with case head surface?

Thanks again...BCB

The general rule of thumb has always been simply to make sure the primer is at least flush with the case head, never above. Sometimes due to primer pocket variations or primer brand, the primer will be slightly below that point. In my experience, it really doesn't seem to affect ignition, at least from a practical standpoint.

About the only difficulty I've ever run into was seating effort. If it takes more than a gentle push, something's wrong.....usually dirt in the pocket.

Really depends on what you're shooting. You want at least flush, and .002" to .004" below the case head is better...especially if you're shooting something that has an inertia type firing pin instead of a spring retracted one.
