Found the site while going through back issues of mags and reading about Jeffs .303 pygmy.
But looking round the site I noticed a few kiwis had a .38-303 and was intrigued by it.
Looks like a good bush round for NZ and it really appeals to me for being something different.

I'm looking for another project rifle (as if I don't have enough already) :-P and was thinking a .303 wildcat such as .35-303 or .38-303 as theres plenty of old Enfields around with shot out barrels just wanting some loving attention.
I already have a .270Win for longer ranges and such, but it is over kill at the close bush ranges I often hunt in I reckon.

I'm thinking short barrel and stock, forward mount scout scope and a big slow bullet in a cartridge with enough short range grunt to knock big stuff over.
Also cast bullets are sounding appealing for the ability to cope with slower velocities and still expand.
Plus it's more firearms related equipment. :cbpour::wink:

So which is the better round in your opinion, best rifle choice to start this with and who might have a chamber reamer to do the job?

Te Hopo, welcome to the site.from over the pond.303`s can be converted to 444marlin,but you need a good gunsmith to rework the magazine.

I know a smith who can supply a chambered barrel in 35/303 and reloading dies. Pat

Cheers guys, I been talking with Euan on this site and he said "You could use a 303 reamer and then a 375 neck & throater."
And with that, he's shot 1000s of goats pigs deer etc with this round.

And thanks for that Pat, if I have trouble finding someone this side of the ditch to do this, I'll grab some details off you.

Ive also been thinking of a .303 wildcat. I would love something like a .303/6.5. I think I heard that Epps in Canada did something like this years ago. I think it would be a good project. I hope yours goes well!
