I needed to clean up some 45/70 cases today and put them in the polisher. I had also picked up a hundred or so 45 and 40 cases at the range and put them in too.
I don't have a 40 (If I need to shoot mice, I use a 22) but I never pass up free brass.
I certainly never tumbled 45/70 and 40' together before. Every 45/70 case had a 40 lodged in it when I took them out. some had two, as I was about to find out.
Anyway, I started decapping the 45/70's and puhed my decapping pin out on one. I found a second 40 case in it. I checked the rest and found two more like that. The one I tried to deprime is hopelessly stuck.....
Moral, never polish the two together!
