Bet it casts undersize.
At $10, it's a buy - don't know about higher prices...

It'll start at $9.99 BUT there are 5 plus days left. It'll probably sell for around $55.00 when all is said and done.

You could always lap it out. If it goes reasomable enough, jump on it./beagle

It's been my experience that Lyman molds are all over the place diameter wise.
I am currently on my second 452374 that casts .455 diameter! This is a mold designed for the 45 auto. any ideas why so large?
It's quite possible this mold was casting oversized and has been plated with the intent to "shrink" the diameter of the as cast boolit.
Sadly I suspect the current owner wouldn't have a clue how to cast a boolit and find out the diameter which is a shame to say the least.
However it does give me some ideas on how to treat my current 452374 single cavity mold after I have it HP'd!
Hard to tell from the photo but the mould looks like it has been bead blasted with glass beads to me ! I have beaded a lot of small steel/cast iron parts and it just has that look rather than being plated !
The seller is a very reputable dealer though and I have purchased several moulds from him over the years !

It may have been bead blasted and plated to hide some pits in cavity.

If it is metaloy or metalife plating its a hard chrome plating. Plating thickness typically runs .0002-.0006 but can be as thick as .001. They usually try to stay pretty thin as hard chrome starts to crack on its own as the plating gets thicker.
we armtec(armalloy) parts at the shop all the time and that is not what it would look like. It looks to me just like what another member here said - someone glass beaded it to get rid of rust. The platers will glass bead parts before flash chroming but it doesen't look like chrome to me either.

I agree.
I have a 357 mold which looks just like that one.
After blasting, the 'stain' around the cavity set in.
