View Full Version : Good days work
Spent a good part of today using my new turkey fryer and dutch oven for the first time. Boy, what a major improvement over my old method of melting down wheelweights! Melted down all the wheelweights I had and ended up with about 260 pounds of ingots. Now time to turn them into something more usable!:Fire:

................Be carefull. Your wife sees you out the working like a Trojan, all sweaty and humping around those lead ingots around and she'll expect that kind of effort in future honey-do's. They're a wiley bunch they are.

TedH,
It's nice to be able to process them like that, isn't it? While I like the convenience of some of the smaller setups, I sure like having the processed (cleaned) WW ingots ready to go when it comes time to cast.
Looks like you got a nice pile there. What do your ingots weigh out at and what sort of mold did you use?
Regards,
Dave

Dave,
It is an RCBS ingot mold. They weigh right at 1#, some a hair more depending on how consistant I am with the pouring.
Yeah Buckshot, this kind of activity usually goes on when she's not home. If she knew how much time I actually spent on my "piddling around", she would expect a lot more for her projects.
