Loading for a 4 5/8" NMBH and a Marlin 1894-I have mold, cast bullets, Gator checks, and Lyman sizer ready to go. I'm seeing many say that 13.5gr of 2400 is max BUT I see plenty forum members loading 17 and 18 grain loads. I can't find any supporting data for those heavy 2400 loads?! Am I missing something?

I shoot the 429421 under 20gr of 2400 BUT 18g under a 310grainer seems way too heavy a charge.

Can you guys/gals help point me in the right direction?

I loaded 14.0 grains, and loaded them as long as my marlin would feed.

I suspect the higher loads you are seeing are loaded longer than the published data.

Go to lasc.us and Glenn Fryxell's article on 1894 MARLIN; also another on the 44 magnum with heavy boolits.
