A friend of mine who knows little about guns asked me a question about a gun he saw in an old Sci-Fi movie "Robinson Crusoe on Mars". He said it looked like a revolver but may have only had two cylinders. Was this just a prop, or was something like that ever produced? Curiosty is killing me, might have to find the flick somewhere and watch.

Most revolvers only have one cylinder so if it was down to two, no telling. Looks like an S series 44 mag to me at the 1:43 mark.

Oops... my bad, meant perhaps a cylinder with only 2 chambers? Video only had a fleeting glimpse.

Well, I went hunting on the internet and found this... http://onlinedoug.com/Ruger_Hawkeye.html Probably what he saw. Looks wierd. I've never seen one before.

The hawkeye was a single shot that flipped to the side to reload. I have seen one but never shot one.

S&W made some single shots too.

Watched the video posted on u tube.

That Looks like a S&W 1891 single shot target pistol second model.

Perhaps someone can confirm my guess?
