View Full Version : Roll crimp or Taper ?

Asking any fellow Silhouette shooters out there if they rolled or taper crimped their T/C .357 Maximum gun. I know you have to in a wheel gun , but is it really necessary in a single shot for better accuracy. I did use a medium taper crimp and liked it much better than the Roll crimp . I didn't crimp at all when I 1st started to shoot but found it better to use a crimp and felt it helped me score better. Any 357
MAX shooters out there still involved in IHMSA ?[smilie=s:

I taper crimp mine. Brass lasts longer that way. Seems kinder on cast boolits as well.

I wish IHMSA was still active here. We haven't had a match now for about 10 years. We still do NRA pistol silhouette, but IHMSA is officially dead in Albuquerque.

Did you taper crimp hard or just enough of what you thought would be good enough for you and the load you were working up ? Did you ever try it with no crimp because it was a Single shot ?
