I bought this mold from a friend who hadn't used it in years. I had shot some boolits from this mold before and finally talked him out of it. Great casting qualities once it gets heated up.

These boolits weigh 308.5 grains instead of 310 grains.
Using 22.5 grains H110 for Ruger 45 Colts.

I've owned NEI molds for many years and IMO they are some of the very best made. I especially like the heavy sprue cutter plates and the overall quality of the molds. Well worth the money.

Edit: After reading a thread lower on the list about the questionable quality of current NEI molds, let me add that all of my NEI molds are probably 15 years old or more so my comments may not accurately describe current production.

I've heard the same thing about their current quality. This is a Walt era mold according to the guy I got it from. I was casting with this mold all morning long, with very few culls. The boolits you see in the pictures are ones I cast this morning and water dropped.

Trey,

I would venture to say that that is a Walt era mould.

In the mid-eighties I asked Walt to make a Keith mould for my .45 Colt Blackhawk that would weigh in at about 310 -315 in wheel weights and clear the front of the Blackhawk cylinder by .050. Thus the NEI 310 .451 was born. He made me a two cavity brass mould that casts a boolit that looks very much like yours. I don't know if NEI has changed boolit designs over the years like Lyman is famous for.

Although when he made mine he was in NE Texas, thus the NE Industrial and I don't remember when he moved to Oregon.

I paid the cost of the mould plus $100 for the cherry, I think the total was $167 to my door.

Enjoy your good fortune! A good mould is a joy forever!
