Does anyone know if Ruger has ever put the redhawk together with the non-fluted .454 cylinder and a 4 inch barrel?

I have been looking at the Redhawk 'Alaskan' but don't want a 2 1/2 inch barrel.

I really like the lack of flutes on the cylinder and the rounded butt, suppose a 4" barrel from one of the .45 colts could be screwed on but it would be nice to get a gun that doesn't need surgery right off.

All of the Ruger Super Redhawks (Alaskan, 7.5-inch, & 9.5-inch) in .454 Casull have a non-fluted cylinder. The Alaskan was/is only offered in a 2.5-inch model. Your only way to get a 4-inch is to have someone build you one or to have a 7.5 or 9.5-incher cut down to 4-inches.

Hamilton Bowen advertises a conversion on the Alaskan where you can have a 4" barrel installed. IMO, it looks ver slick.

The completed conversion looks similar to the 4" Redhawk, but instead you have super-redhawk/GP-100 lockwork and grip frame.
