After about 600 rounds down the pipe, I think I can say I can finally shoot the damn thing. At 25 paces I put 4 of 5 shots inside 2" with forearms braced. The fifth shot opened it up to about 3.5." This is with the time-tested load of, you guessed it, 8 grains of Unique pushing a 200gr slug.

I don't know what kind of velocities I'm getting out of my 4 5/8" barrel, does anyone have an idea what I'm getting?

What is everyone's accuracy load with 2400 in 41 mag? I'm figuring the Unique load is a little anemic for whitetail and 2400 meters a lot nicer and doesn't leak in my Lee powder dump than the #9 I have kicking around. I don't want anything to do with H110 or 296, too much drama for me with the max loads required and need for a mag primer.

I used to load 17gr 2400 with a 210 gr SWC. I shot deer and javilina with it with excellent results. I don't remember the velocities with that load.

2400is a good easy powder to use--- you should find what you want in that 17-18 gr range- Keith with the old 2400 note old old 2400 used 19-20 and rounds would push 1400 + -- I would not know what the new would do --I used a lot o 2400 and really only stopped when I started using electronic muffs- like you said lots of drama with h110/296-- but also good results-- I talked a friend into using 2400 instead of h110 in his 4" 29 because of the blast- 2400 =good stuff in the .41-- btw 17-17.5 of AA#9 is also great with 220--mine is a hp and in a 5.5 " will do 1400+bullet weight is 209--very accurate
