I'm ready to start loading CB's for my 350 Remington Mag. I'm using the Lyman 358315, 206 grainer. Any comments or suggestions? Not much data in the load books. I'm big into surplus powder so WC872, WC852, WC820, WC680, IMR4895 & SR4759 powders are what I have most of.

I'm looking for something in the 1700 to 1950 fps range.

Thanks for your help!

Can't help you but I've always been an admirer of the caliber. What rifle are you shooting?

Load it as a Whelen. The case capacities are virtually the same. Most, if not all, commercial 350 maggies are 16 twist. ... felix

Based on what Felix said, I will tell you this. 40.0/4895 with a 358009 Improved (280ish grainer) in 35 Whelen yields ~1900 fps in a 14 twist. sundog

Yep, it is a short Whelen with a girdle.
I load for a Handi rifle in .35Whelen, same bullet.
My slowest load is BLC-2,40gr, 1730fps.
IMR4198 is my choicefrom 35 to 40gr, 2120 to 2380 fps.
Only powder on your list I use is 4895, 40gr to 46gr, 2000 to 2310 fps.
Rel7 gives me the same velocities as 4198, but requires 5gr more for the same velocities.
I also load a 158gr SWC GC, 25gr 4227, 1520fps, nice plinker and paper poker, loaded up to 32gr, gives 2460fps.
35gr 4895 gives 1680 fps, a lot of unburned powder in barrel.

Thanks for the great info!

I have a Remington 600 made in 1965. I've used it a few times to hunt in the Adironadacks and love the rifle. Taken two buck with it and it does the job. I don't shoot it much though and going with cast bullets will get me out more often with it. It is a great rifle and I'm looking forward to shooting it often. Thanks!

Get the 158gr SWC, GC mold from Lee, cast up a bunch and see about surplus groundhogs in your area, should be good practice!
