Does anybody have any loads for 358 Gremlin( blown out 35x39)?

This apears that it would make a good cast boolit cartridge.

There is a couple links in some postings on my headspace question thread that contain some data.

Sounds a lot like the Russian 9x39mm - a 7.62x39mm case necked up to take 9mm bullets

Its my understanding that they use it with heavy bullets (250gr) & subsonic velocities plus a silencer / suppressor, for "tactical uses".

Sort of the Russians version of the various Whisper rounds

Heres a Wikipedia link (may have to cut and paste)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9x39mm

Theres a small amount of info out there on it, I know a few people in the US have built 9x39's (look at the web forums where they talk about building AKs & the variants).

Not sure what you're going to use this for, but I just thought I'd throw it out there. Kinda interesting if nothing else I thought :)

Go to http://www.65grendel.com/forum/ and look at the "other wildcats" section. The russian 9x39 round maintains the original taper of the parent cartridge for function in AK magazines. The Gremlin is more of a PPC, with much less taper, and will function better in AR style magazines. Seems a more attractive round to me than the 300 Whisper from a cast bullet view.

Google mini-thiry-five in the September 1993 Guns & Ammo. I found photos of the three page article somewhere on the net.
