Does anyone wish to share how they seat the softer lead bullets in rifle calibers with out marking them up with the seaters that are made for jacketed bullets?

pupsdad,

Expand the case neck same-same as with a handgun case. Use either Lee's Universal Case Neck Expander die or Lyman's caliber specific "M" die.

A hard sealing wax like that used to seal a document can be dripped into the seater and then the bullet pressed against it to mold it to the nose.A dab of JB weld could also work, but more permenantly.Extra seaters can be bought and modified.A slight ring on a cast bullet nose will have little effect on performance. It just looks bad.

Take the seater out of the die, chuck it up in a hand drill and polish the inside edge with 400-600 sand paper this remove the sharp edge and lessions nose damage.
If that doesn't work then do the hard wax/epoxy thing.

Oops, I was thinking about the other end of the boolit.

I make all of my own seaters, bore them out fill with epoxy and mold to nose shape of boolit. This eliminates most of the mark and gives a straighter seating alignment.
