I have 370gr Keith bullet mold, I havent really worked with it much in my Ruger 454. Has anyone used this heavy of a bullet? I would like to try Unique powder but not sure where to start.

Interestink question! I haven't, but will be waiting for your results, as I dinna' see why not. I'd start out by finding out what twist your popgun has, and then I'd get a guess as to what velocity you might achieve. Maybe ask someone with an internal ballistic program to run it for you for an estimate. Then go to greenhill or some other stability model and see if it stabilizes. Thas gonna be your main problem, too slow and too long a boolit (without enough twist) to stabilize at the speed you can get.

I've used 400 and 420 gr boolits in my .454 Raging Bull. It's been a few years, so I don't remember much about accuracy, but my load data says 23 gr H110 and a Win SR primer, and says "not max". I don't remember where I got that load data, so take it for what it's worth, but it worked fine for me. Make sure to seat the boolit as long as possible to avoid pressure spikes.

I do remember that the 400gr (NEI 454-380 mold that casts heavy) at 1200 fps penetrated two one-foot-thick alder trees, and a rotted log behind them.

Unique is pretty fast for such a heavy boolit, I would think it would only work well for light loads with that boolit.

I'm shooting 360gr in my Ruger 45 Colt and 454 Puma. Try H110 or W196 for full house loads.
