Well here are the results of round 1. T/C Contender super 14, Burris 3-9.
Loads were 40 to 44 gr Imr 4895, win lg rifle primer, R-P nickel 444 cases sized and once fired. Boolit was Lyman 375449, sized .377 weight 275 w/ lube and gas check. alloy was 50/50 ww/pb +1% tin, water dropped. Shot at 50 yds. Nothing to write home about but a good learning experience for....... THE FIRST 25 gas check rifle type boolits I EVER made and shot! Not to mention a cartridge that does not have a lot of cast data out there.
Pic #1 is 40, 41 &42 gr
Pic #2 is 43 and 44. 44 shows promise the hole dead center is a called pull
All cases fell out of the gun on opening, first 4 loads had smokey necks. Found lube specks on the targets (not much). next week I am going to go up to 45 46 & 47gr and see. Also play with deeper seating ( these are touching the lands)
Forgot to turn on the chrono for the first group but the rest I got
41 gr avg vel 1728, ES 50 SD 21
42 gr vel 1772, ES 30 SD 11
43 gr vel 1819, ES 41 SD 16
44 gr vel 1847, ES 35 SD 14
