Does Hogdon BL-C(2) powder have a Winchester counterpart? Is there a surplus powder currently available that is similar/identical to BL-C(2)?

Win 748. Surplus, if you can find any, is 844, 846, and 2230-C.

Actually, WCC844 was developed by Winchester in the sixties for the 223 round to reduce the fouling. WCC844T is the tracer. WCC846 was about the same time for the 308 and WCC846T is that tracer powder. Pats Reloading has both in stock right now.

I read on another forum that 846 and 846T were the same powder but that patsreloading uses the T to designate where the powder was pulled-down from. Can anyone confirm? I just bought several jugs of 846T and would like to buy more but want 846 to reduce any barrel wear concerns from the hotter powder.

846 T was supposed to be better flash suppressed than 846. I believe they are both the same powder but with a bit different flash suppressents/deterents.

846t has a higher flame temp to ignite tracer bullets. Supposidly it will cause a little more barrel errosion but ive not seen a problem yet.

748 is close but a bit faster.

WCC 846 is also close, but as with all surplus powders, it varies from lot to lot.
I have a bit left from the two jugs purchased from Pats Reloading a few years ago.
